Richard Bach's books are some of the first metaphysical books I picked up on my journey into becoming more aware. I am sure that many other people of my generation were also inspired by Illusions with the realisation that we are all reluctant messiah's.

I can see us coming into this world, and we know how to use our senses and we can feel and sense the seen and unseen life that surrounds us. However, we didn't have the words to describe this (perhaps we never will). So we engaged into a process of learning and creating a framework to describe the world we see around us. And if we are conscious enough, we can see what other people are saying and translate into our own unique language, the experiences they were pointing to. We then begin to map out our own experiences and the experiences of others that resonate with us into a larger picture of the universe that not only exists outside of us, but inside of us. And as this matrix gets more defined we can intuit points of views from previous positions that we have held. Its like we can triangulate and enter into a new point of view from previously held vistas.

I guess there are many strategies and many ways to expand upon one's consciousness.
